Waterproof Vinyl Decking, Built for Northern BC
From Prince George through the Cariboo, this is interior BC at its most extreme — long, cold, snowy winters and dry, hot summers. Valordek is a continuous waterproof vinyl membrane tested from -40°C to 80°C, built to flex through the whole swing. Canadian-made and shipped north.
Long winters, big swings
Interior and northern BC put a deck through a full continental range — deep, snowy winters and dry, hot summers. A deck up here gets worked from both ends of the thermometer.
Deep interior cold
Away from the coast, the interior gets a real winter — sustained cold well into the -30s and heavy snow load on the deck for months. Rigid coatings and wood go brittle and crack; the membrane stays flexible to -40°C.
Long snow load
Snow settles and stays through a long northern winter. Every seam, screw hole, and board gap becomes a path for meltwater into the structure once it thaws. A continuous membrane has none.
Hard freeze-thaw
The interior shoulder seasons swing across the freezing point again and again, prying open board gaps and splitting coatings. A heat-welded continuous membrane moves with the cycle instead of cracking.
Dry, hot summers
Interior summers turn hot and bone-dry, checking and greying wood while UV fades stain. A sealed, UV-stable vinyl surface doesn't dry out, move, or fade.
Two membranes. Built for two jobs.
Valordek bonds directly to your substrate and heat-welds into one continuous waterproof surface. No board gaps, no fasteners through the surface, nothing for meltwater to find.

68mil Fuzzy-Back
The standard for residential balconies and decks over living space. Contact-adhered with heat-welded seams for a fully sealed, walkable waterproof surface.

60mil Smooth-Back
Built for rooftop and amenity decks. PVC flashing on open decks plus heat-welded seams. Class A & C fire rated and Intertek tested.
Communities we serve across the North
Valordek is Canadian-made and ships across interior and northern BC, connecting you with installers where they're available. The same membrane handles the continental climate from the Cariboo to Prince George — here's a closer look.
Prince George
The capital of the north and its largest city, Prince George is a forestry and university hub with a full four-season interior climate — cold, snowy winters and warm, dry summers. It's a city of family homes with sundecks that have to survive both, which is exactly what a continuous, flexible membrane is built for.
The Cariboo & 100 Mile House
Ranch country through 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, and Quesnel runs to acreages and rural properties with big decks and long, cold winters. Out here a deck is built to last and serviced rarely — a sealed vinyl surface that needs no annual re-stain fits how people actually use these properties.
Shipped north, installed local
Distance is the northern reality, so Valordek ships product across the region and supports DIY installs with the same membrane, adhesive, flashing, and clips used on code-mandated decks in the south. Where a local installer is available, we'll connect you; where one isn't, we'll walk you through it.
Why wood and coatings fail here first
The interior swing is hard on a deck: dry summer heat checks and splits the wood, then winter snow load and freeze-thaw finish the job, while coatings crack in the cold. A continuous heat-welded vinyl membrane flexes to -40°C, won't fade, doesn't absorb water, and has no seams to split — one sealed sheet for all four seasons.

Can vinyl decking handle northern interior winters?
Yes — it's built for exactly this. Valordek is rated to -40°C and stays flexible instead of going brittle, so it holds its waterproofing through the deep cold, heavy snow load, and repeated freeze-thaw of an interior BC winter.
Do you ship to Prince George and the Cariboo?
Yes. Valordek is Canadian-made and ships across interior and northern BC — Prince George, Quesnel, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, and beyond. Contact us for samples, pricing, and to be connected with a local installer, or to get the supplies to install it yourself.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. We supply the membrane, adhesive, flashing, and clips and walk you through the install — useful where a local installer isn't nearby. Reach out and we'll help you scope the job.
What does vinyl decking cost in Northern BC?
The membrane starts at $3.74 per square foot for material. Total installed cost depends on deck size, substrate condition, and complexity. Size your project with the cost calculator, or reach out for a quote.
Can I shovel snow off it all winter?
Yes — use a plastic shovel or soft-bristle broom and avoid metal blades or ice scrapers on the membrane. Calcium-chloride de-icers are safe, and because it stays flexible at -40°C, a long winter of snow removal won't crack it.
